If you want to
get married in Mexico, it’s perfectly
legal. However, you will need to do
some advance planning (just as you
would if you were getting married
at home), since the paperwork and
other legal requirements can take
some time.
While it’s not difficult to satisfy
the legal requirements,
you should be aware of them and the
required documentation necessary for
your wedding to be legally recognized
in Mexico and other countries, including
the US and Canada.
By planning ahead,
your wedding can be stress-free and
all that you have dreamed of. That’s
where Vallarta
Original Weddings – VOWs®
can help. We can help you plan your
day and take care of all the details
for you.
We recommend you
begin planning your wedding as soon
as possible, especially if you choose
a date around the holidays – Christmas,
New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, Thanksgiving
or Easter. By allowing ample time,
you can be assured of getting the
location you prefer and all the services
you need to make your event a success
If you plan a civil
ceremony (the only legal ceremony
in Mexico), you will need the services
of a local civil judge. Since there
are only a few in the area, their
schedules tend to fill up rapidly,
so it’s important to schedule a date
and time well in advance. Your coordinator
will be happy to do this for you.
