Why celebrate
your wedding in Puerto Vallarta?
It’s not hard to understand why getting
married in Mexico is so popular. Mexico
is one of the world’s premier wedding
and honeymoon destinations. Modern
Bride magazine ranks Mexico as
the #1 most desirable location to
get married away from home. And it’s
becoming more popular all the time.
Mexico is a place of history, romance
and magic. According to Conde
Nast Puerto Vallarta is the friendliest
city in the world, as well as one
of the most beautiful and enchanting
places in Mexico – the perfect place
to begin your new life together.
Once a sleepy fishing village, Puerto
Vallarta has been a popular location
for filming American movies, including
Tennessee William’s The Night
of the Iguana directed by John
Houston in 1963 and The Predator
starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, as
well as many popular Mexican movies.
It was in Puerto Vallarta that Richard
Burton and Elizabeth Taylor carried
on their scandalous affair while married
to other people. Celebrities are often
spotted on the beaches or strolling
along the Malecon. And because Puerto
Vallarta continues to maintain its
reputation as a safe destination with
low violence and crime rates, it remains
the premiere tourist location in Mexico
and is a popular stopping point for
many of the cruise ships.
Through it all, Vallarta (as the
locals call it) still maintains the
charm of Old Mexico with it’s ornate
churches and central square where
families gather on Sunday to visit,
listen to music and enjoy the almost
perfect weather. If you are planning
to get married in Mexico, be assured
that Puerto Vallarta is one of the
most spectacular places to celebrate
your special day.
From crystal blue waters, sun kissed
beaches, and incredible sunsets to
mountain getaways, charming villas,
historic buildings, cobblestone streets
and some of the friendliest people
in the world, Puerto Vallarta has
it all.
Situated between the Sierre Madre
Mountains and the protected waters
of the Bay of Banderas, Vallarta enjoys
a perfect tropical climate with an
average temperature of about 82 degrees,
an average of 345 sunny days and is
on the same latitude as Hawaii.
There are basically two seasons in
Puerto Vallarta – summer and winter.
The winter season – from November
through May – is essentially sunny
with little, if any, rain, cooler
temperatures and low humidity. In
contrast, the summer season – June
through October – is hot and humid
with rain more likely than not, especially
in the evening and at night. While
the rain doesn’t really affect the
daily living here, it is something
to consider when planning your wedding.
And the weather can be as unpredictable
here as it is anywhere else.
While summer is probably not the
best time to plan a sunset wedding
on the beach, no matter what time
of year your wedding will take place,
there are many options. So if a summer
wedding is in your plans, consider
a restaurant, a villa or one of the
many hotels in our tropical paradise.
A little planning will help avoid
unpleasant surprises.
